In the main text we give the undoubtedly authentic fingering of FE (→GE). In EE it was completed with a digit added by Fontana, which indicates a different fingering than the one by Chopin. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions |

In FE there are no ties sustaining the upper notes of the octaves in bars 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12. According to us, the most probable explanation is a kind of misunderstanding at the time of changing the original brief notation of the octaves with the use of 8 under the upper notes for regular notation. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , GE revisions , Abbreviated octaves' notation |

The accent sign in FE is clearly different than in bars 1-2. Most probably, according to Chopin's intentions, it was supposed to be a long accent. Both in GE and in EE it was rendered as a casual short accent. In GE4 (→GE5) the sign was omitted, which was probably a mistake. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Errors in GE |
