b. 43

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

Crotchets in CLI & Ap

Quavers & rests in FE (→GE,EE

..

Same as in analogous bar 16, in FEcor Chopin changed the crotchets in the L.H. to quavers separated with rests. The crotchets, being undoubtedly the original version, also appear in CLI (with erroneously written semiquaver flags next to the 2nd crotchet) and Ap.

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

No sign in CLIFE (→GE,EE

 in Ap

..

Despite a shorter upper arm of the  in Ap, according to us, Chopin was rather thinking about a diminuendo from the beginning of the bar. The mark may, yet it certainly does not have to, be considered as an addition to the markings of the main version.

Triad in CLI & Ap

Sixthin FE (→GE,EE

..

The triads in CLI and Ap are the original version, which is confirmed by the fact that Chopin deleted the inner note in FEcor. What is conspicuous is that the note was an e3, which probably originally appeared in CLI (it was then corrected to f3).
