b. 94-95

composition: Op. 10 No 8, Etude in F major

Chords in A

FE (→GE,EE)

..

Chopin introduced a different edition of the final chords while proofreading FE (→GE,EE). In bar 95 the notation of A is unclear, as far as the rhythmic values are concerned – f2 (the lowest note in this version) has a minim stem, which is incomprehensible in this context. In A it is also the most probably erroneous c2 in the 2nd chord in the R.H. (changed later in a proofreading of FE to d2) that draws attention. It is probably an unadjusted mark of the still earlier version whose traces are visible in A

b. 95

composition: Op. 10 No 8, Etude in F major

Three notes in A (→FEEE3)

Four notes in GE & EE4

..

In GE and EE4 the authentic F-c-a triad was completed with f1. Chopin's possible proofreading of GE1 is highly unlikely, therefore the version with four notes in the L.H. was most probably performed by the reviser of GE1.
