In FE, the 5th quaver looks like b, as the note head is lacking its ledger line. The intended text is nonetheless obvious here. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Errors in FE |

In EE, the dashes defining the scope of the diminuendo end as early as bar 274. This is most probably an oversight, as in that edition we find no performance markings (apart from slurs) until bar 286. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE |

In this bar in FE the diminuendo continues, while GC (→GE) has the hairpin mark . It is difficult to find a convincing explanation behind that difference. For our main text we adopt the version of FE in order to maintain consistency with bar 279. Lack of markings in EE is probably accidental (see the note to bar 275). The dashes that can be seen in GE, prolonging the scope of the dim. are definitely erroneous. category imprint: Differences between sources |

The GC (→GE1) version, although harmonically and pianistically quite possible, is probably erroneous. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Terzverschreibung error , Errors of GC |

Lack of the cresc. indication in EE is most probably an error (see the note to bar 275). Lack of the dashes delimiting the cresc. scope in GE is an error beyond any doubt. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE |
