We add a staccato dot over the 2nd crotchet of the bar, by analogy with bar 42, in which the appropriate mark does appear, possibly added by Chopin himself. The dot was also added in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions |

The long accent written by Chopin in A was reversed in GE1 (→FE) so that it resembles small crescendo hairpins. In EE that reversed mark, difficult to understand in the context, was omitted altogether. GE2 introduced a short accent, yet assigned it to the sixth in the L.H. That latter inaccuracy was corrected in GE3 category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Sign reversal |

The accent on the 2nd crotchet of the L.H. visible in A was misinterpreted in GE1 (→FE) as short hairpins . The proper form of that mark was restored in GE2 (→GE3). EE also has that accent, but moved under the stave. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE |

The accent under the 1st note of the bar in A should, in our opinion, be considered a long one. In GE it was reproduced as a short accent, which is hardly surprising in this case. In FE (→EE1→EE2) the mark was omitted, probably by accident. It reappeared in EE3. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Long accents , EE revisions , Errors in FE |
