No dot in FE (→EE)

We give the staccato dot written in A (→GE). The absence of that sign in FE (→EE) is probably a mistake. Adding a dot above a flat in the R.H. in the proofing of FE Chopin could think that it also applied to the left hand (that quaver is written on the lower staff in FE).

In A, the quavers a flat at the beginning of those bars have wedges;  in GE1 the wedges were omitted. In FE, staccato dots were added instead, which is most probably the result of Chopin's intervention. Dots were also added in GE2 (→GE3). Absence of any signs in EE might mean that some of the changes in FE were introduced after copies had been sent to London as base texts for EE1.

It is not clear what type of accent was used in A; it collides with the indication cresc., which makes it difficult to determine its shape. We consider a long accent to be more probable (cf. signs in the neighbouring bars). Omission of the accent mark in GE1 (→FE→EE) is definitely an error. The accent was put back in GE2 (→GE3), yet  ascribing it to the L.H. chord seems unfortunate.
