Accents in A (→GE2GE3)

One accent in GE1 (→FEEE)

Our suggestion

..

In bars 15 and 19, A has accents on the 2nd beat of the bar. Both marks are drawn with a lighter stroke of the pen than the remaining accents in bars 13-20, which may indicate that they had been entered earlier. This hypothesis finds confirmation in the notation of A in analogous bars 47, 51, 99 and 103, in which accents on the 2nd beat were removed, probably after the accents on the third beat in bars 45-52 and 97-104 were entered. In this situation we consider it very probable that leaving the accents in bars 15 and 19 is the result of Chopin's oversight when correcting A. It cannot be entirely ruled out that the lack of an accent on the 2nd beat in bar 19 is the result of Chopin's correction in GE1 (→FEEE), although the adding of the sign in GE2 (→GE3) seems to contradict that possibility.

The slur in A (a more probable reading) and FE (→EE1EE2)

A less probable reading of A, GE and EE3

..

The point where the slur over bar 59 exactly begins is not clear in A; most probably the slur extends from the quavers at the beginning of that bar, just like in more clearly notated analogous bars  63 and 67. This is how it was initially interpreted in GE1 (→FEEE1EE2), in which it was then prolonged (the traces of the deleted initial slur start are visible in GE1). Ultimately, GE has a slur beginning on f2 in bar 58, which is most probably due to Chopin's intervention (see the note to bars 62-63). That last-mentioned version was also introduced in EE3.

The slur in A and FE (→EE1EE2)

The slur in GE and EE3

..

The note f2 on the 3rd beat of bar 62 is not embraced by the slur in A, as the slur begins from bar 63. Originally GE1 had the same slur, yet it was later corrected by having its beginning moved to the last crotchet of bar 62 (the traces of the erased fragment are clearly visible). In all probability that change was made on Chopin's request. The original (shorter) slur  was preserved in FE (→EE1EE2), while GE2 (→GE3) and EE3 have the corrected version.
