The point where the slur over bar 59 exactly begins is not clear in A; most probably the slur extends from the quavers at the beginning of that bar, just like in more clearly notated analogous bars 63 and 67. This is how it was initially interpreted in GE1 (→FE→EE1→EE2), in which it was then prolonged (the traces of the deleted initial slur start are visible in GE1). Ultimately, GE has a slur beginning on f2 in bar 58, which is most probably due to Chopin's intervention (see the note to bars 62-63). That last-mentioned version was also introduced in EE3.
