b. 135-139

composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt I

In A Chopin did not finish the slur he started writing in the preceding line in bar 135. It must be an oversight, hence in the main text we lead the slur to the beginning of bar 139, after a similar phrase in bars 119-123. The editions considered the ending of the slur in bar 135, suggesting that it should be continued, to be inaccurate, as a result of which it was led only to the last quaver in bar 135. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , GE revisions , Uncertain slur continuation |

It is difficult to consider the last of the slurs added by GE (→FE,EE,IE) – cf. bars 131-138 – to be justified, particularly when it comes to it having been written from the 1st crotchet in the bar. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |
