GE1 was prepared on the basis of A. The base text was corrected, mainly by adding missing accidentals. Some signs were written directly into A, others appear no earlier than in print. Signs mistakenly added in A were subsequently deleted in the proof copy, so that they are absent from the ready GE1. Ultimately, as far as the correctness of accidentals notation is concerned, GE1 is the most carefully prepared among all the first editions. It still contains a number of pitch errors, inaccuracies are also visible in performance markings, particularly slurs.
