b. 677

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

Fingering digit in FE

No fingering in GE

Fontana's fingering in EE

..

The missing fingering digit in GE could be explained by it having been added by Chopin in the last proofreading of FE. However, the fact of having left a few mistakes, particularly the wrong note at the beginning of the bar, rather suggests that the composer did not address that bar in the last phase of work on the text of FE and that GE simply overlooked the digit.

b. 678

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

No mark in A (→FEEE)

 in FC (literal reading→GE1)

Short accent in GE2 (→GE3)

Long accent suggested by the editors

..

According to Chopin, this bar is supposed to be a repetition of b. 227. Due to the reasons discussed in the note concerning that bar, in the main text we interpret the mark written there by Chopin as a long accent. A similar solution was adopted also in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 678-679

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

Slur in A

No slur in FC (→GE) & FE (→EE)

..

The discussed bars are an exact repetition of b. 227-228. The slur written there in A over the b-a motif was not repeated in derivative sources, both there and here. See also b. 95-96.

b. 679

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

..

In the main text, we add cautionary sharps before the f notes. Accidentals in the R.H. were added already in GE.

b. 681-682

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

No sign in A (FEEE)

 in FC (→GE1)

 in GE2 (→GE3)

..

In the main text we give a  hairpin, written by Chopin in FC (→GE1) in b. 230 (the discussed bar is a repetition thereof). Just like there, subsequent GE arbitrarily shortened the mark and moved it over the top stave.
