The notation of the sources suggests that the slurs reach only the bottom note of the g2-c3 fourth. It is unjustified in terms of the pianistic reality, which is proven by, e.g. the notation of an abbreviated version of these motifs in bars 458-459 – the entire fourth is an integral part of the passage, both at the beginning and at the end.
