b. 282

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

..

FE1 has an a1-cthird on the 1st quaver. It is a perfect example of an unfinished proofreading, where the correct note was printed without having removed the erroneous one. The mistake was corrected in FE2 (→EE).

We add the pedal release mark overlooked in FE – it is most probably a mistake of the engraver. The inaccuracy was corrected also by the revisers of GE and EE.

b. 282-283

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

d2 in GE

d & 4 d2 in FE (→EE)

Without notes d in L.H. in b. 282, two notes d2 and two notes d in b. 283 in FE (→EE)

..

Like in b. 23-24 and analogous, in the main text we follow FE, proofread by Chopin, hence we add d in the L.H. on the 1st and 3rd beats of b. 282 and on the 1st beat of b. 283 as well as d2 and d on the first semiquaver of the triplet in b. 283.

Pedalling in GE

No markings in FE (→EE)

..

In the main text we include the pedal markings of GE, entered probably into [A] after [FC] had been finished.
