Issues : Accidental below/above the note

b. 16

composition: WN 55, Waltz in F minor

Acciaccatura in AO, AR, AE, AK, AG, CC

Appoggiatura in CX & CY

No grace note in F

..

All autographs include a short dgrace note. F does not have a grace note in this place - it results from a different ending of the melodic motif in bars 15 and 16.

In CX and CY, the grace note is not slashed - it may be a copying inaccuracy.

In AK, the natural next to the grace note was written clearly lower, in the 3rd space.

b. 16

composition: Op. 2, Variation IV, primitive version

..

Both manuscripts are missing a few necessary accidentals in this bar – a  to g2 and naturals to g2, d1 and g1. In addition, in AsI the  to d2 is missing. On the other hand, in A there is an unjustified  to c1 in the last L.H. figure. The latter and both accidentals written in A to the topmost R.H. notes are placed much lower than the noteheads they concern.

b. 23

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor

..

In the chord in the middle of the bar, Chopin overlooked the  returning in A. However, two notes later he added a cautionary natural before (arranged a little bit too high).

b. 32

composition: Op. 10 No 3, Etude in E major

..

The notation of accidentals is inaccurate in some of the sources, which, however, does not create any problems in interpreting Chopin's intention. It concerns mostly AI, yet in A (→FEEE2EE3) there is also no  before g2 in the L.H. (in bar 33).
