b. 149-152

composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor

..

From the 2nd half of bar 149 to the end of bar 152 the R.H. part does not contain any accidentals in A, as a result of which the entire figuration, based on an A7 chord, would include g notes, instead of g. GE added all necessary flats, while in FE they were supplemented gradually and randomly, hence it is only just EE that shows the correct text (in FE1 flats were added to g3 in bar 151 and to g in bar 152, while in FE2 also to g1 in bar 149, g2 in bar 150 and G in bar 152).

b. 150

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

..

Missing in FE1 are the ending of the tie sustaining E flat and   lowering E1 to E flat1. Those obvious mistakes were corrected in FE2.

2 slurs in A (→EE)

1 slur in GC (→GE) & FE

..

Bar 151 starts a new line in A (→GC), and the literally read slurs, written with impetus, denote one slur over two bars. This reading was reproduced in both FE and GE. Only in EE  each bar is embraced with one slur, presumably on the basis of the comparison with analogous passages – in all seven passages (bars 48-49, 50-51, 56-57, 58-59, 142-143, 144-145 and 152-153) the slurs are separated. Moreover six of the corresponding pairs of bars are written in one line, so that the slurring raises no doubt whatsoever. On this account, we also give separate slurs in the main text.

b. 150

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

..

A (→GC,FE1) has no naturals before the upper notes of the 4th and 12th semiquaver (b1 and b2). This inaccuracy, characteristic of Chopin, was gradually corrected in FE – the first  was added in FE2, the second in FE3. All these sources have no  before the 7th L.H. note, b. This, however, is not an error because a b in the 2nd R.H. semiquaver is placed with the appropriate  on the lower staff. The remaining editions have a fully correct text.
Moreover, in the main text we remove the  repeated before g1 in the 8th semiquaver, present in all the sources.
