b. 104

composition: Op. 24 No. 2, Mazurka in C major

A wedge in A

A dot in GE1 (FEEE)

An additional dot in the L.H. in GE2 (→GE3)

..

Chopin's wedge from A was rendered in GE1 as a dot, which was repeated by FE (→EE). Moreover,  GE2 (→GE3) have another dot in the L.H. We base our main text on A.

b. 104

composition: Op. 24 No. 2, Mazurka in C major

 An accent in A (→GE)

No accent in FE (→EE)

..

The accent that falls on the 3rd beat in A (→GE) was omitted from FE (→EE), probably accidentally left out by the engraver.

b. 104

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

No staccato mark in A (→GE1FEEE)

A dot in GE2 (→GE3)

..

We add a staccato dot over the 2nd crotchet of the bar, by analogy with bar 42, in which the appropriate mark does appear, possibly added by Chopin himself. The dot was also added in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 104

composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor

A long accent in A

A reversed accent mark in GE1 (→FE)

No mark in EE

A short accent in GE2

A short accent in GE3

..

The long accent written by Chopin in A was reversed in GE1 (→FE) so that it resembles small crescendo hairpins. In EE that reversed mark, difficult to understand in the context, was omitted altogether. GE2 introduced a short accent, yet assigned it to the sixth in the L.H. That latter inaccuracy was corrected in GE3
