Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Appony |
A number of revisions of the text of EE2 was introduced in EE3. These include:
-
additions inspired by comparisons with GE1, e.g.
in bar 9 (after GE) and bars 21, 25 and 92 (by analogy), a L.H. slur in bar 46, staccato dots in bars 75-76;
- correction of an erroneous bass note in bar 14;
-
other minor corrections, e.g. adding a cautionary
in bar 21.
There exists a later impression of that edition (dated not earlier than 1864), which has the name of Wessel's successor, the firm Ashdown & Parry, printed in the bottom part of the cover.
