Publisher: | Wessel & Co. |
Date: | 1837 |

Title: | Les Plaintives! Deux Nocturnes. 7e. Nocturne |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Appony |
EE1 repeats the text of FE1 with a number of additions, not avoiding certain errors, e.g. in bar 14. Chopin did not take part in its preparation.
Revisions of EE1 include performance markings (e.g. L.H. slurs in bars 1-2) and added accidentals (e.g. in bar 5 and bars 27-28,
in bar 68). Most performance markings were added on the basis of authentic markings appearing in similar places (accents on g
2 in bar 6 and bar 15 or crescendo hairpins and staccato dots bar 19). This edition disregards characteristic anomalies in the notation of the rhythm
that can be seen in GE (→FE).
EE1 exhibits the typical features of Wessel's publications: wavy slurs, notation of grace notes and minims and an arbitrarily added title.
