While performing a new typesetting of the Etudes, Op. 25, the Breitkopf & Härtel company introduced numerous changes into the note text:

  • the  time signature in bars 1 and 104 was returned;
  • the slurring was changed – slurs were separated in bars 4-5 and 12-13 and connected in bars 23-27 and 74-77, moreover, the errors of GE1 in bars 95-97 and 115-118 were corrected;
  • the notation of accidentals was finally ordered, by completing the last missing ones, e.g., in bars 6, 11, 113 and 116, as well as by adding several cautionary accidentals, e.g., in bars 38 or 114;
  • the first accent in bar 17 and  in bar 59 were added;
  •  in bar 20 were moved between the staves;  signs in bars 51-54 were moved and shortened;
  • the erroneous  in bar 26 was corrected, by adding naturals returning e and e2 and cautionary ones before e1 and e3;
  • the sempre piano indication was moved from bar 46 to the right one (39);
  • the erroneous rhythmic value of the bass note in bars 46, 66 and 86 was corrected;
  • the rhythmic note of the tenor f in bar 50 and 70 was shortened;
  • a tie sustaining d in bar 56 was added;
  • dynamic hairpins were extended, e.g., in bar 79;
  • rit. in bar 85 and a grace note in bar 87 were added by analogy;
  • the erroneous notation of grace notes in bars 96 and 98 was corrected;
  • F crotchet on the 3rd beat of bar 108 was added by analogy;
  • long accents were changed into short, e.g., in bars 107-108.

In GE2 particular Etudes were also published separately, provided with a collective cover, which itemised 12 etudes each by Chopin, Henselt and Thalberg.
