The semiquavers being grouped differently in the editions resulted from an arbitrary decision of the engraver of GE1 – see bars 208-227. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

In AsI the rhythm on the 2nd quaver in bars 242 and 244 – two semiquavers – in the piano reduction is compliant with the parts of the individual instruments. In A (→GE→FE,EE,FESB) Chopin replaced the semiquavers with dotted rhythms; however, he left the orchestral part unchanged. The change is undoubtedly final. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Dotted or even rhythm |

As was the case with a few other places in this tutti, the semiquavers in AsI are the initial version, present in this manuscript in the orchestral part too. Cf. bars 242 and 244 and 247-251. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Dotted or even rhythm |

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

The rhythm with semiquavers only present in bars 247, 249 and the 1st half of bar 251 was written in AsI twice – as the earliest version (the initial one written in ink) and the latest one (corrections in pencil). While preparing the version for one piano for print, Chopin opted for dotted rhythms, which we give in the main text. category imprint: Corrections & alterations issues: Dotted or even rhythm |

The version of EE, FESB and GE3 is most probably an arbitrary change performed by the revisers (engravers?), certain that the basis (in this case either GE1 or GE2) contained a mistake. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Revisions in FESB |
