b. 14

composition: Op. 63 No. 3, Mazurka in C# minor

2 slurs in FE1 (→GE)

1 slur in FE2 (→EEW)

..

The double slur in FE1 (→GE) is probably a remaining element of the initial slurring, left by inadvertence, corrected by Chopin in FE2 (→EEW).

b. 16-17

composition: Op. 63 No. 3, Mazurka in C# minor

Longer slur in FE (→GE1,→EEW)

Shorter slur in GE2 (→GE3)

..

The decision to shorten the slur in GE2 (→GE3) probably resulted from the vague notation of GE1 – the slur reaches the bar line there, which the engraver of GE2 clarified by adjusting the range of the slur to the basic rhythmic structure (bar).

b. 16

composition: Op. 63 No. 3, Mazurka in C# minor

Double slur in FE (→GE,→EEW)

1 slur suggested by the editors

..

According to us, the additional slur, present in all sources, is a consequence of unclear notation in [A] or a remaining element from before corrections, hence we do not include it in the main text.

b. 17

composition: Op. 63 No. 3, Mazurka in C# minor

..

GE1 does not include a  mark in this bar. It must be an oversight by the engraver, corrected in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 20-21

composition: Op. 63 No. 3, Mazurka in C# minor

Longer slur in FE (→GE1,→EEW)

Shorter slur in GE2 (→GE3)

..

As in bars 16-17, in GE2 (→GE3) the slur was arbitrarily shortened.
