b. 9-15

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

In GE2 the L.H. beaming was changed in these bars by separating the quaver from the following two semiquavers wherever such a combination appears. We do not include those changes in our transcriptions, since they must be arbitrary and are generally of purely graphical nature. Likewise in the entire Polonaise.

b. 17-18

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

In FE (→EE) the L.H. part octaves (from the 2nd beat of b. 17 to the end of the 1st beat of b. 18) are written in a simplified way with the use of con 8va. In the process, in FE both ties to F1-F in b. 17 were given, whereas in EE only the top one. According to us, it is the version of FE that corresponds probably to the notation of [A], while in GE the abbreviations were expanded. There is a similar situation in all four analogous places.

b. 17-18

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

In GE2 the entire R.H. part was placed on the top stave. It is the first out of many such changes – see the note to b. 24-26. We do not reproduce this inauthentic layout in our transcriptions, since the change does not influence the meaning of the text. Likewise in b. 43-44 and all subsequent analogous passages.

b. 24-26

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

GE2 changed the layout of the text, placing the entire R.H. part on the top stave (in bass clef). This change is contrary to Chopin's habit, who would write the R.H. part in such a manner only in exceptional situations (e.g. in the Prelude in E major, Op. 28 No. 9). Similar changes were introduced in all analogous passages (bars 50-52, 76-78, 283-285, and 309-311), as well as in bars 79-83. We do not reproduce this inauthentic layout in our transcripts for these changes do not influence the meaning of the text.

b. 43-44

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

As was the case with b. 17-18, in FE (→EE) the L.H. part octaves (from the 2nd beat of b. 43 to the end of the 1st beat of b. 44) are written in a simplified manner with the use of con 8va.
