The slurring of FC (→GE) is one of a few distinct inaccuracies of the copyist, and yet difficult to explain – cf. b. 27-28, 38-39 or 58. In A the slur starting in b. 57 is a tenuto-slur, according to us, and this is how we reproduce it in the main text. At the same time, we include the ambiguous curved line of A at the beginning of b. 58; the shape thereof resembles a tie, but it is placed at the height of a slur. In FE the curved line was not prolonged beyond the a1 crotchet, whereas in EE, due to a routine shift of the mark to the side of noteheads, it became a tie. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors of FC , Tenuto slurs |

As with the previous bars, Fontana moved the slur – contrary to A – towards the beginning of the bar, as a result of which it encompasses this very bar, which was picked up by GE. In this case, it is difficult to conclude whether it was an inaccuracy or a misinterpretation of the slur of A. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FC |

In each of b. 59-60 and 62-63 the L.H. part is marked in A (→FC) with a •/•, which implies that the preceding bar should be repeated. The abridged notation was used in the manuscripts also in the remaining bars – to mark the 2nd half of the bar in b. 61 and 65-72 and the 1st one in b. 64. Similar notation was also used in FE by marking the 2nd half of the bar with a / in b. 59-63 and 65-72. category imprint: Differences between sources |
