Title: | 24 Préludes |
Dedication: | Son ami Camille Pleyel |
First French edition based on A, in which the whole cycle of Preludes was divided into two books, 12 pieces each. Chopin almost certainly did not participate in its preparation – the proofreading of FE1, which included supplemented accidentals and pedalling, was conducted by Julian Fontana. General description of FE1 in the entire Op. 28 – see the Prelude in C no. 1.
In the Prelude in E minor, except minor inaccuracies in the reproduction of the range of slurs or dynamic hairpins (after all, not always unequivocal in A, e.g. in b. 16-17), in FE1 we can find the following defects:
- the R.H. slur in b. 11-12 was overlooked,
- the hairpin in b. 17-18 was overlooked,
- the sign in b. 18 was inaptly placed,
- the dashes marking the range of smorzando in b. 21-22 were overlooked.
