In A almost the whole RH part in b. 63 is illegible due to the burnt page corner of the manuscript. Similar damages make difficult or impossible the reading of some fragments of A in bars 92-97, 148-149, 196-197 and 241-242.

The GE4# version was most probably introduced in order to avoid the difference with the analogous bars 52, 56 and 60, which feature e1 as the fifth L.H. quaver. This version may be regarded as a permissible variant – although this kind of differences in similar passages do occur in Chopin's works but a composer's mistake cannot be completely excluded.
