On the basis of the available sources, one cannot determine whether Chopin chose one version of the 1st note of bass, and if yes then which one. In FE (→GE,EE), there is an e-e1, left unchanged by Chopin in four out of five pupil's copies, including two that bear visible traces of this movement of the Concerto having been studied with Chopin (FED and FEH).
