Staccato dots in Atut & GE3

The notation of Atut may be misleading – there is a delicate trace of ink caused by the quill's transfer between the staccato dots, which the engraver of FE considered a slur. The revision in GE3 was most probably performed on the basis of analogy with the following bars.

In Atut, there are no sharps next to the bottom notes of the octaves on the 2nd beat of bars 41 and 44. These patent inaccuracies were corrected in FE (→GE,EE).

The issue of sustaining the B minim is unclear. Bar 77 is the last one on a page in Atut and it is devoid of a tie. However, on a new page, in bar 78, there is an ending of such a tie. Since Chopin did not write a respective tie in an analogous situation in bars 81-82, we assume, in accordance with FE (→GE), that the ending of the tie was written in bar 78 by mistake. In this situation, the tie in EE added most probably by Fontana, modelled after the solo part (bars 238-239 and 242-243), is to be considered a variant of uncertain authenticity. In bar 79 in Atut, Chopin wrote a  only before the top note of the octave at the beginning of the bar, which was corrected already in FE (→GE,EE). In an analogous situation four bars later, there are no accidentals before the 1st octave in Atut, which was repeated in FE and corrected only just in GE and EE.
