The notation of the lower slur in A is inaccurate. In the editors' opinion, its correct interpretation is the one given in GE. The slur of FE, extended even further up to the crotchet e flat2, may be a result of Chopin's correction, although we could not come across any graphic traces of its extending. Still, that solution, being the most natural from the musical point of view, is given in the main text.
The compliance of EE (based on FE) with the version of GE is probably accidental - a result of inaccurate reading of FE.
The mark in FEJ may be interpreted as a slur for the lower voice; in practice, its sense could be conveyed by prolonging the printed slur to the quaver a flat 1 at the end of the bar. It is, however, quite probable that the sign separates both voices of the right hand; this would indicate e.g. the need to suggestively convey the polyphony through distinct and independent phrasing in each voice. Therefore we do not include the mark in the main text.
