A more probable interpretation of the slur in  A

The slur in GE (→FE→EE)

The slur is drawn inaccurately in A and poses interpretation difficulties, particularly its right end. For reasons discussed in notes to bars  2-3 and 26-27 we consider it more probable that it was supposed to reach a flat1 . In the editions, that slur embraces only bar 46.
