b. 36-37

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

No marks in FE (→GE,EE)

Accents suggested by the editors

..

In the main text we suggest adding accents under c after analogous b. 180-181, in which Chopin added them most probably while proofreading FE. According to us, in [A] almost the entire main section of the Polonaise was written only once, which means that Chopin did not envision any differences between them.

b. 36-37

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

..

In the main text we add a cautionary  before e1 in b. 36 and a  before d1 in b. 37.

b. 36

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

..

The sources are lacking in the  lowering d2 to d2, which is a patent inaccuracy, repeated almost certainly after [A]

b. 41

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

Wedge in FE (→EE)

No mark in GE

Wedge & accent suggested by the editors

..

In FE (→EE) the e2-d3 seventh is provided here with a wedge; however, in the respective bar of the reprise (b. 185), which was probably marked in [A] in an abridged manner as repetition of the discussed one, it is provided with an accent. Therefore, it is highly likely that the text was not reproduced here accurately, i.e. one of the marks could have been overlooked, whereas Chopin could have added the other while proofreading. Taking into account the above, in the main text we suggest (in both places) optionally adding the mark present in the analogous place.

b. 41-42

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

No slurs in FE (→GE)

Whole-bar slurs in EE

Slurs suggested by the editors

..

In the main text we suggest slurs modelled after the possibly authentic slur in a similar figure in b. 40. Slurs were also added in EE; however, they were modelled after the whole-bar slurs prevailing in the bars based on a similar scheme.
A similar situation can be found in b. 185-186.
