b. 17-18

composition: Op. 19, Bolero

in FE (→EE)

in GE

..

The slightly longer hairpin of FE (→EE), ending under e2, may result from an inaccuracy of the engraver or of Chopin. According to us, its range should probably be the same as in bars 16 and 19, hence encompassing two semiquaver groups.

b. 18-19

composition: Op. 19, Bolero

meno forte in FE (→GE)

meno in EE

..

In EE the meno forte indication was changed to the shortened form meno  and placed at the beginning of bar 19. It is an arbitrary revision of the editor.

dim. on hairpin in FE

dim. over hairpin in GE & EE

..

The dim. marking, placed between the arms of the  in FE almost certainly corresponds to the notation of Chopin in [A]. Both in GE and EE the revisers placed it separately, over the hairpin.

composition: Op. 19, Bolero

Pedalling in FE (→GE)

Pedalling in EE2 (→EE3)

No indications in EE1

..

The missing pedalling in EE1 is a mistake of the engraver. It was rectified in EE2 (→EE3, yet the mark was placed slightly later, at the level of the 3rd semiquaver in the R.H.
