Even in such a seemingly obvious situation, the engraver of GE1 separated the slurs in the middle of the bar, contrary to A and the musical sense. The extension of the first slur in FE (→EE), although it returns the range of the slur written in A, is probably another inaccuracy. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions |

Differences in the placement of accents perhaps result from an ambiguous rhythmic notation, adopted from A – the engraver of FE, seeing an accent over the d category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE |

According to us, the slur of A, extended by Chopin until the bar line, was supposed to lead to f2 at the beginning of bar 137. However, its range is not entirely clear, which was reproduced in GE – the slur in bar 136, at the end of the line, suggests a continuation, which is however absent in bar 137. We assume – same as FE (→EE) – that it means separated slurs, which are at the same time an alternative possibility of interpreting A. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE , Inaccurate slurs in A |

Both accents in A are typical long accents, which was not reproduced in the editions. Moving the first under the 3rd quaver is almost certainly a mistake of the engraver of FE (→EE), who adapted this half of the bar to the adjacent ones. In the main text we move the first accent over f category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Long accents , Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE |
