b. 85-87

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

No marks in A

14 staccato dots in FE (→EE) & GE2 (→GE3GE4)

Staccato in GE1

..

In the proofreading of FE1 Chopin added staccato dots for the L.H. in the 2nd halves in bars 85-86 and in the 1st half of bar 87. Moreover, he added dots also in the R.H. in the 2nd half of bar 85. According to us, it is the gap in the indications of the R.H. that could have drawn Chopin's attention, who noticed some defects also in the L.H. near this place (similarly in bars 89-90). GE1 overlooked dots next to the 4th note from the end and the last note in the L.H. in bars 85-86. Cf. bars 69 and 70-71

b. 85

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

Staccato dots in A

No marks in FE (→GE,EE)

..

The staccato dots at the beginning of this bar were probably removed by Chopin in the proofreading of FE1. It is indicated by the absence of dots in an analogous situation in bar 93.

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

..

In A the 2nd half of bar 87 and the 1st quaver of bar 88 are provided with staccato dots in the part of the R.H. Chopin removed them in the proofreading of FE1 – see the next note.

b. 89-90

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

Staccato dots in R.H. in bar 90 in A

Dots in FE (→EE) & GE2 (→GE3GE4)

Dots in L.H. in GE1

..

In the proofreading of FE1 Chopin completed the staccato dots in the 2nd half of bar 89 (in the parts of both hands) and in the 1st half of bar 90 (in the L.H.). In GE1 all six dots concerning the R.H. were overlooked, which was corrected in the subsequent GE. Cf. bars 6970-71 and 85-87
