In GE2 the accents were replaced with short  marks, which were extended in GE3. All these and later changes (in subsequent GE,s) are a result of arbitrary interventions of the engravers or revisers. EE2 omits the accents, which is one of a numerous errors of this type present in this edition. The marks – in the form of short accents – were added in EE3 (→EE4).

No accents in FE (→EE,GE1→GE1a→GE2→GE3) is probably a result of an oversight (Chopin's or the engraver's). In GE4 (→GE5) the first of the overlooked sign was added (in the form of  hairpins).
