b. 46

composition: Op. 24 No. 1, Mazurka in G minor

c1 in the chord in A, FE (→EE) and GE2 (→GE3)

A note missing in GE1

..

The note c1 in the chord at the beginning of the bar is barely visible in A, so in GE1 it was omitted. Chopin added it again in the proofing of FE (→EE), it was also supplemented in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 46-47

composition: Op. 24 No. 1, Mazurka in G minor

A less probable interpretation of the slur in A (→GEFEEE)

A more probable interpretation of the slur in A

..

In A,  bar 46 is the last bar in the line, and the slur clearly reaches the margin. However, it is not continued in bar 47, which theoretically gives us three interpretation possibilities: overlapping slurs, separated slurs, or one combined slur. A comparison with similar bars 38-39, in which Chopin put two slurs, eliminates the third option and points to the first one as the most probable. GE (→FEEE) had separated slurs.

b. 48

composition: Op. 24 No. 1, Mazurka in G minor

g1 in the lower voice in A (→GE)

g1 in the upper voice in FE (→EE)

..

In FE (→EE) the crotchet g1 was mistakenly assigned to the upper voice, which blurred the line between the melodic line and the harmonic filling.
