b. 150-151
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
Bar 151 starts a new line in A (→GC), and the literally read slurs, written with impetus, denote one slur over two bars. This reading was reproduced in both FE and GE. Only in EE each bar is embraced with one slur, presumably on the basis of the comparison with analogous passages – in all seven passages (bars 48-49, 50-51, 56-57, 58-59, 142-143, 144-145 and 152-153) the slurs are separated. Moreover six of the corresponding pairs of bars are written in one line, so that the slurring raises no doubt whatsoever. On this account, we also give separate slurs in the main text. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , FE revisions |

The lack of dynamic marking in A (→EE,GC→GE1) could result from distraction (or lack of space) connected with the correction. In FE and GE2 (→GE3) a category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors resulting from corrections , Authentic corrections of FE , FE revisions |

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

The slur in the R.H. in FE ends in bar 156. It is undoubtedly the editor's revision, as bar 156 opens a new line in FE, while in A it is in the middle of the stave, therefore, an accidental break of the started slur is out of the question. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: FE revisions |
