On the 2nd and 3rd crotchet FE and GE1 have empty a-e1 fifths. It is undoubtedly an omission of the engraver of FE – cf. analogous bars 30 and 202 – it could have been caused by the unclear notation of [A]. Chopin probably added the chords in the base text to EE. The corrected version, probably on the basis of a comparison with the mentioned bars, was introduced also in GE2 (→GE3).

In bars 44 and 52 EE has an e-c1 sixth on the 2nd and 3rd crotchet, similarly in analogous bars 76 and 84. Chopin most probably introduced this variant in the base text to EE. In the main text we give the version of the remaining sources whose authenticity does not raise any, even minor, doubts.
