b. 2-11
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
Chopin changed the version of the last semiquaver in bars 2 and 10 written in A while he was proofreading FE (→GE,EE). Traces of this proofreading are clearly visible in both bars. What is interesting is the fact that in bar 2 A had initially another version, in which a was probably involved, although without the tie sustaining it to the next bar. In bar 2 the added note a was provided in EE with a fingering digit '3'. We include it in the main text instead of the identical direction at the beginning of the next bar. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: EE revisions , Chopin's hesitations , Authentic corrections of FE |

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor

We consider the lack of hold of g as an error of A, which was not corrected in any of the subsequent sources. Chopin's more relaxed approach at the time of writing the first phrase of the Etude is indicated by other undeniable mistakes – lack of before d at the beginning of bar 12 and, above all, overlooking the accidentals in bar 15. category imprint: Editorial revisions issues: Errors of A |

b. 13-14

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor

Lack of the tie sustaining a in A is most probably a mistake, which is confirmed by the tie added by Chopin in a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors of A , Authentic corrections of FE |

The omission of the additional semiquaver on the last note is most probably an oversight of the engraver of GE3 (→GE4→GE5). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE |

Lack of the dot prolonging G in FE (→GE1) is probably an error. The sign was added in EE, as well as in GE2 and subsequent GE,s. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , GE revisions |
