Slurs in Ap, probable interpretation

Slurs in Ap, possible interpretation

In Ap there are four slurs, one in each bar. As it seems that some of the slurs in this manuscript may include fragments (endings) in which the quill pen did not leave a mark on the paper (or perhaps they are imperceptible in the available photographs), their exact range is uncertain. According to us, it cannot be excluded that in Chopin's intention each pair of slurs in bars 19-20 and 21-22 was supposed to merge in one two-bar-long slur.
