The version of GE2 is completely arbitrary: the rhythmic variant from that bar does not occur in any of the other sources. There are no reasons to suspect a mistake, either. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor

In GE the minim g sharp in bar 35 is sustained with a tie from the previous bar. This is probably a revision resulting from misunderstanding of Chopin's notation, which is confirmed by the omission of an accent above that note. A similar situation occurs when the fragment is repeated in bars 376-377. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

Missing in GC are three augmenting dots for all the three minims in that bar. That obvious omission was corrected in GE. category imprint: Differences between sources; Source & stylistic information issues: GE revisions , Errors of GC |

Both versions of the rhythm in that bar are probably authentic. Identical rhythmic differences between those sources also occur in analogous bars 129 and 389. In the main text we give the version of FE, probably the latest one. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Inserted rest |
