In FE (→EE) the upper voice minims at the beginning of bars 6 and 8 are furnished with dots extending their rhythmic values. This contradicts the notation of A (→GE). The error could have resulted from reading the staccato dot on the 2bnd beat as the extending dot for the minim. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE |

We give the text of A as our main text. The absence of the tied octave f2-f3 in GE1 (→FE→EE) is most probably a mistake, which is in a sense confirmed by the reintroduction of the ties in GE2 (→GE3). However, a puzzling fact is the omission of that place in the proofing of FE, and particularly lack of that correction in FED, in which Chopin added a natural in bar 10 and a fingering numeral in bar 11. This may testify to the acceptance by the composer of the version of striking the entire chord at the beginning of bar 11. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE |

There is no rest in the upper voice in the sources. We add it because in this Mazurka Chopin usually put rests in similar situations. category imprint: Editorial revisions |

In FED Chopin marked that the grace chord is to be struck simultaneously with d in the left hand. Similarly in bar 32. Cf. Nocturne in D major Op. 27 no. 2, bar12. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Annotations in FED , Synchronization markings |
