  b. 42

No accent mark in A (→GE1FEEE)

A short accent in GE2 (→GE3)

The editors' proposition

In the editors' opinion, the absence of an accent - a long one, as in bars 38 and 40 – at the beginning of bar 42 is the result of Chopin's inattention, therefore we suggest adding it. A similar revision was made in GE2 (→GE3), yet with a short accent added in both those German editions.
