PE4 reproduced the text of PE3 with minimal changes:
- in bars 36-37 staccato dots were added under the bass C
and C notes;
- in bar 143 the additional crotchet stem to E1 was removed, thus restoring the version of PE1 (→PE2). It cannot be ruled out that it is simply a defect related to the change of printing technique to lithography.
Due to the change to lithography, some small marks, particularly staccato dots, became poorly visible or invisible in many places, e.g. in bars 49-55. We do not consider such differences to be variants; what is more, we do not comment on single defects of this kind.
