In FE, there are no rests in the original notation of this bar, as a result of which it is not entirely clear which hand is supposed to perform the orchestral part on the 2nd and 3rd beats of the bar. Therefore, in the main text we suggest the indication assigning these crotchets to the left hand, which may have come from Chopin. category imprint: Differences between sources |

The fingering in FEH naturally complements the indication in FES, whose authenticity is unquestionable, hence we include it in the main text. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Annotations in FES , Annotations in FEH |

The use of the 1st finger on the top note of the sixth was indicated in FEH only in this bar; however, it is definitely to be repeated in all four similarly structured figures of accompaniment in bars 64-67. The absence of such an indication in FES provides for a possibility of a different fingering, using the 2nd finger; however, according to us, it is also likely that the entries in this copy mark the same fingering described with more details in FEH. category imprint: Differences between sources |

We add a cautionary before a2 in the main text. The accidental was added in FEH as well as in GE3. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Annotations in teaching copies , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Annotations in FEH |
