Issues : Errors of GC
b. 26
|
composition: Op. 25 No 10, Etude in B minor
..
In GC, FE and EE there are no accidentals before the 9th quaver, so it is not entirely clear whether it is to be read as e-e1-e2-e3 or e-e1-e2-e3. The comparison with the previous bar indicates a typical for Chopin oversight of naturals returning e and e2. GE1, however, added the raising e3 to e3, which is certainly a mistake (yet it was repeated in EE3). The correctly written text is featured only in GE2 (→GE3). In EE1 the top note of the part of the R.H. is mistakenly written as d3. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors in EE , Omissions to cancel alteration , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Errors of GC |

b. 27-30
|
composition: Op. 25 No 11, Etude in A minor
..
In the passages including a few octaves, there are no accidentals in the sources, which, however, does not raise doubts concerning the text intended by Chopin.
In GC there are no sharps needed in the notation of f1, f2 in bar 27, f, f1, f2 in bar 28, f2, f1 (L.H.), c1 in bar 29 and f, d2 in bar 30. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , GE revisions , Omission of current key accidentals , Errors of GC |

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

GC overlooked the b1 quaver in the lower part of the R.H. GE amended this version by adding an extending dot next to the b1 crotchet. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Errors of GC |

b. 32
|
composition: Op. 25 No 7, Etude in C♯ minor
..
Same as in bar 30, the version of FE, being a result of Chopin proofreading (introducing the dotted rhythm in the top voice and sustaining b1 already from the 5th quaver of the bar), is given by us in the main text in a modified form. The simplified rhythmic notation, in accordance with Chopin's habits concerning this issue, according to us, significantly increases the text's legibility. The missing ties sustaining the e1-g1 third in GC (→GE) are almost certainly the copyist's oversight. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions; Corrections & alterations issues: Accompaniment changes , Authentic corrections of FE , Main-line changes , Errors of GC , Dotted or even rhythm |

b. 32-33
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt II
..
The absence of in GC (→GE) is probably an oversight of the copyist. It is also possible that Chopin added it in [A] already after having prepared the copy. In FE (→EE) the sign is only at the beginning of bar 33, which, according to us, follows from the necessity of choosing place for the sign written in [A] (partially) on the bar line. It is confirmed by placing the in the respective bar of the recapitulation (bar 220). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Errors of GC |
