b. 134-135
|
composition: Op. 30 No. 4, Mazurka in C# minor
..
In FC the slur in bar 134, the last in the line, suggests that it should be continued, which is not confirmed by the slur beginning in bar 135 from the 1st note. We assume that they are separated slurs, as in FE (→EE), whereas in GE they were interpreted as a continuous slur. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources |

b. 137-169
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we give the staccato markings in b. 137, 145, 161 and 169 on the basis of the homogenous notation of FC. The alternating wedges and dots in A indicate Chopin's inaccuracy: the unquestionable wedge in b. 161, along with the notation of A in b. 5-37, make us consider the wedges to be probably intended. The omission of the markings in FE (→EE) must be a mistake, whereas the double dots in GE – a revision (there is no top dot in b. 169 in GE2, which is a patent oversight). category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Wedges , Inaccuracies in FC |

b. 160
|
composition: Op. 43, Tarantella
..
In all the sources except FC3 the chord on the second beat is written out as a crotchet with a quaver rest. In FC3 there are a rest and augmentation dot but only on the upper note of the chord. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FC |

b. 178-180
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

An earlier start of the hairpin is most probably an inaccuracy: of the copyist in FC (→GE) and – independently – of the engraver in EE. Cf. analogous b. 629-631. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Scope of dynamic hairpins , EE inaccuracies , Inaccuracies in FC |
