b. 28

composition: Op. 63 No. 2, Mazurka in F minor

b1 in As

a1 with  in FE (→GE,EE)

..

It is unclear whether the different version of the beginning of the bar – b1 without an ornament as the 1st R.H. note – is an actual variant or simply an inaccurate record of the sketched melody (cf. bar 26).

b. 28

composition: Op. 63 No. 2, Mazurka in F minor

Crotchet in As

Quaver, rest & semiquaver in FE (→GE,EE)

..

In As the 2nd beat does not differ from the version of bar 20, which must be the initial version, enhanced in the process of preparing the Mazurka for publication.

b. 28

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

g3 repeated in AsI

g3 tied in A (→GEFE,EE,FESB)

..

According to the editors, it is not certain whether the lack of the tie to g3 in AsI is a real variant or just Chopin's oversight.

b. 29

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

b3 in CLI & EE

c4 in FE (→GE)

..

The b3 note on the last semiquaver in CLI and EE seems to be a mistake – the copyist, or maybe the engraver, could have not realised the irregularity of figurations in this place. However, one cannot exclude that CLI transfers the original version of the note, while in EE we are dealing with an editorial revision. Cf. bars 5 and 53.
