b. 26

composition: Op. 28 No. 12, Prelude in G♯ minor

..

In A (→FC) Chopin wrote here only the top slur and pedalling markings. The remaining contents of this bar were marked as a repetition of the previous one with the help of two / marks.

b. 27-42

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

As before, in A (→FCGE) the majority of the groups of repeated quavers were written as dotted crotchets or minims provided with quaver tremolo marks. In A this is how the L.H. in b. 32-33 and in the 2nd halves of b. 27-31, 36-37 and 42 and the R.H. in the 1st half of b. 32 and in the 2nd halves of b. 27, 29, 31, 33-34 and 42 were marked. There is a similar situation in FC (→GE) – except b. 36, while in GE also except b. 27. In addition, in FC (→GE1) the tremolo beam in b. 33 was overlooked – see the note in that bar.

b. 28-38

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

..

In bars 28-35 and 37-38, Chopin used in Atut an abbreviated notation of the repeated quavers. In FE (→EE,GE1GE2), the abbreviations were explained, like in our system. In bars 28-35, identical abbreviations were re-introduced in GE3. According to us, this compliance is accidental, which is supported by the fact that the notation in bars 37-38 differs – Chopin would use abbreviations to minimise writing, whereas the primary aim of the engraver of GE3 was to save space.

b. 28

composition: WN 37, Lento con gran espressione

..

In A1 the L.H. part is marked in an abridged manner as a repetition of the preceding bar (/). Chopin used an abbreviation also in [A2] (→CJ,CK), yet the notation is inaccurate – two / marks interpreted literally mean a double repetition of the last figure in the preceding bar.
