AsI does not contain any performance markings, on which we do not comment further on.

b. 140-143

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In AsI the L.H. part is marked in an abridged manner with the word unisono, written in every bar. The alternative L.H. part is written on the same stave, which we change for better legibility of the transcription: we separate the parts by placing the alternative one on an additional stave, as was performed by the other sources.

b. 141-146

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

As was the case 4 or 8 bars earlier, in AsI there are no accidentals restoring c2 and b1 at the end of b. 141 and c1 and b at the end of b. 145. Analogous deficiencies are to be found in the L.H. part too, which is marked in an abridged manner as a doubled R.H. part (an octave lower). The notation of A and the sources is correct.

b. 142

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In A the last fingering digit in the 1st half of the bar concerning the R.H. (over f2) is 3, whereas GE1 printed there a 2 (by mistake). The mistake was corrected in all editions based on GE1 – in GE2 (→GE3) and FE the digit 3 was restored, while in EE the erroneous digit was removed.

b. 144

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

Triad in A (→GEEE,FESB)

Sixth in FE

..

As in b. 136, in the main text we give a sixth, which Chopin introduced instead of a three-note chord while proofreading FE.
