In AsI there are two versions of b. 166-167, marked as 1. and 2. volta, which, in spite of the absence of repeat signs (including the opening one), implies that b. 152-167 are to be repeated. In A these bars are also repeated (the repetition is provided with appropriate repeat signs and with both versions of b. 166-167); however, Chopin removed the repetition in A by crossing out 1. volta and by erasing the 2. volta bracket (incidentally, the crossed-out 1st version is erroneously marked as 2. volta). We reproduce the notation of AsI only in the graphic transcription, whereas in the content transcription, taking advantage of the fact that b. 150-151 and 1. volta of b. 166-167 are identical, we put repeat signs before b. 150 and after b. 165, which allows us to keep the parallel course of the version of AsI and the remaining ones.

The repetition of b. 176-183 is written out in full in AsI, and not marked with repeat signs, as it was performed in the remaining sources. In order to keep the uniform numbering of bars, compliant with the version intended for publication, the bars making up the second presentation of b. 176-182 were not included in the systemic numbering; in the notes we define them as b. 176'-182'. We mark the two versions (volte) of b. 183 as b. 183(1v) and 183(2v), also with respect to AsI. Consequently, nominally, page 33 of the scan of AsI includes only b. 183, in spite of the fact that b. 183(1v) and 176'-181' are written down on it, whereas page 34 encompasses b. 184-188, in spite of the fact that b. 182' and 183(2v) are written down before b. 184. In the transcriptions of AsI – graphic (transcript) and content (edited text) – it is the first record of b. 176-182 in this source that is presented as b. 176-182, in accordance with the assigned numbering, whereas the transcriptions of the second record (b. 176'-182') can be seen on an additional page, available via the following links:
